Destructo Project Version 6 - Christmas

Version 5 was only four months old, but I was sick of it, so it was time for something new. My first idea was a Zombie design, the second was a grunge design. I started playing around with those ideas, but none of them really did it for me. This went on for a few weeks, until on a cool fall night in late September 2005, I created this design.

I was starting to get into photography at the time, so I decided to use photos for the header images (did I mention that these headers rotate?). I searched a few free photo sites for some quality pics. I had originally planned to make a Halloween themed site, but my mind wandered as it usually does I ended up with a skinable design that would include themes for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Winter.

So why do holidays and seasons? It just felt right to me. I love seasons and holidays. I picked Halloween because it's probably my favorite holiday, with Christmas in a close second. I love Autumn, so it make the cut. I made the winter theme because I couldn't have a christmas theme up for to long. Spring never made it because I switched gears by the time it arrived.

Overall, this design is pretty basic, but the rotating photo headers were the main design feature, the eye candy. Go on, you know you want to hit the refresh button your browser. I did use CSS more on this design than I had on all previous versions of Destructo. This was stepping stone for what I would do in version 7. Make sure you check out the other themes.
