Destructo Project Version 5
Version 5 was launched in May 2005. I started out by playing around with some new ideas for design and graphics for about a month when one of my professors told me I had to design a fully working personal website with content. I already had the site, I just needed a new look. This design turned into the final project for that web design class.
In the graphics area, I went for a carbon fiber look for the horizontal menu bar and the DJ list. I found an old Intellivison font that looked for the menu buttons, nice big letters. The right side is nothing special, just some black square dots on gray that I felt looked good, so I used them. The Header features my use of the pen tool in Photoshop, to create some nice rounded corners. I originally planed on using different fonts for rotating header images, but the size of each image was a little bigger than I wanted and caused some some slow loading times for people with slow internet connections. I settled for the sloppy spray paint font you see and switched to a smaller rotating image you see above the DP Links in the upper right corner.
In the code area, I made use of div tags in my css file. This let me have different colored links for the left and right columns of the site. I know that sounds pretty basic, but it was new to me.
