This is where it all started. After a year of delays, Destructo Project Version 1 launched on June 1st, 2001. The sole purpose of this site was to be a entertainment and media news web site. Back then, the staff and I would shamelessly rip news from other respectable web sites and post it here. We also reviewed movies, music, video games and a book or two from time to time.
The example you see before you is a little incomplete, due to improper data back-up on my part. I use to have an expandable menu at the top of the site along with virtual headers and footers. I have fixed most of the problems except for the expandable menu, it didn't want to work, so I jettisoned it out the airlock and put up this nice little mock-up. Back in 2001 I was hosted by JediNights.com where I had unlimited space, bandwidth and a CGI bin, so I installed a news script that allowed the staff to post news when ever they wanted and eventually added a script that allowed them to upload pictures to the server to use in news stories.
Version 1 looks rather plain. I use to say it was on purpose, but the truth is that I didn't know what I wanted the site to look like. I just wanted to create a media news web site and didn't spend to much time on the design. I liked the idea of rotating header images, so added a javascript that allowed for a new image to appear when ever the page was reloaded. Hit the refresh button to try it out.

| I have to agree with Luke. This movie was released the first week of March. I know this because I read it out of Total Movie who also said you should go see this. I finally got to see Memento two months later and was very impressed with the dark nature of this film, much the same way I was with Fight Club. Later that night I went to see Mummy 2 with my girlfriend and her friend. They enjoyed the film, I however was tainted from my Memento experience, it was ok and very much like the first movie. I had to laugh my ass off when I saw the S-King at the end of the movie... he looked like he came out of a video game. Anyway, you should really go see Memento, because we said so. |

For fuck's sakes people, Pearl Harbor is, by leaps and bounds, the #1 film at the box office. When did the populas all decide to become retarded and find it exceptable to go view a lame ass, cliche-filled film involving a cheesey love story, cheesier dialogue, and a "well no shit Sherlock" ending? All the while, Memento bites the dust. What is Memento, you ask? Well, it's a brilliant film about a man, who suffers from short-term memory loss, who must use notes that he scribes on polaroids and on himself (tattoos) to hunt down the man who raped and killed his wife, known only as "John G." The film runs backwards, each scene happening just before the previous. It has a dark, surreal feel, and is backed by an excellent cast. I urge you all to see this film, and get your head out of Hollywood's ass.
