Movies, Movies, Movies
I, Robot. I liked it. Cool idea, neat effects, great summer movie for the theatre. The whole idea of a robot that can run seems crazy to me. The ending was a surprise.. to me. Also, we apparently don't use shower curtains in the future.

The Bourne Supremacy was the movie of choice this weekend. Holy crazy car chases. Matt Damon has a great franchise in his hands. I like both of these movies. The locations are a good treat for the eyes, I love car chases in the crowded streets of some city european city(Berlin, Paris, Moscow, Naples), lots of bad confusion for the cops. The fight scenes in this movie are crafted in the MTV shaky camera style and can get a little confusing when the fist start flying. Karl Urban was pretty intense in the movie, until the end. I say let there be another movie, I'll go see it.

I did rent Starsky and Hutch but I don't feel like talking about it. SeaLab 2021 Season 1 and Aqua Teen Hunger Force Vol. 2 are both out now on DVD, check it out.

Revenge of the Sith
A good name for the last Star Was movie, fitting to say the least. Didn't Darth Maul say "at last we shall have our revenge"? A little foreshadow anyone? George Lucas you play with us too much.

In other Star Wars news, the NEW Return of the Jedi from the forthcoming DVD release has been leaked on to the internet. Check it here.

My Field Trip to Planet 9
Back on the year of 1993 there was a guy named Justin Warfield. You think maybe he was a rock singer? No. Justin Warfield was an 18 year old kid with his first hip hop album entitled My Field Trip to Planet 9. I didn't think to much of Justin at the time. I, like everyone else was listening to Dr. Dre.. Anyway, Justin was produced by Prince Paul of De La Soul and has a psychedelic sound to it. I've been looking for the album for the last few years, because the song "K Sera Sera" was pretty good. I found it the other day and now I like the whole album, truly refreshing, today's hip hop can never compare to the early 90's. Do yourself a favor and check it out, damn good stuff here. Just as good as De La Soul's Three Feet High and Rising album.

King Arthur, baby arms and apples
King Arthur was on the movie menu for the weekend. So where was Merlin and his bad ass magic? They made a big deal about him in the trailer and on the web site. He talked and watched, but he didn't do any magic... maybe there will be a directors cut DVD.

Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned
I've been listening to the new Prodigy album: Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned. It's a lot like Fat of the Land, yet it's different. To many guest singers and vocals if you ask me. I like the good old vocals of Keith and Maxim, they belong on more than two songs. Anyway, this album comes out on September 14th, I'll be there.

Luke Hackney Part 3
The coverage continues on the only writer I know, sort of. Luke contacted me and said, "make me a damn site design out of that kick ass JAM design you made for me way back when." I said "ok" and two hours later it was all finished. JAM was converted to LukeHackney.com. Enjoy.

Star Wars on DVD!
I was floating around the Digital Bits! web site the other day and came across the new art work for the new Star Wars DVD box set coming out on 9/21/04. And then I got the idea to check out the Star Wars web site and came across this page with info, a true rarity since Lucas makes you pay for most content these day on SW.com. Let the fan boy bitching begin! Take a look see and judge for yourself. I like them, then again I like all the updates that Lucas has done to the original trilogy.

a new hope
the empire strikes back
the return of the jedi
trilogy bonus disc

Spiderman 2
Talk about some serious ass kicking and body bashing. Spiderman kicked his own ass. Spidy fell about 3 or 4 times due to losing his powers and just trashed him self. I hope some of it was animated or the stunt guy was paid well. The other high lights were the fight scenes with Doc Ock, truly breath taking. Also I love the end where Norman Osborn(Willem Dafoe) comes back to show his son Harry the means to revenge by taking his place as the Green Goblin. Director Sam Raimi also slipped Bruce Capmbell in there again as well as a classic Evil Dead shot of a chain saw. Great work Mr. Raimi. Spiderman 3 in 2007.

Xbox 2
GameSpy Xbox has put together a neat little article about all the facts, rumors and various opinions on the next console system from Microsoft. Read it here.

Luke Hackney Part 2
In my continuing coverage of all things Luke Hackney, I bring you his next round of interviews and reviews from Creem Magazine.

David Cross interview
Wilco album review
Beasties, Sonic Youth + Voda reviews

For those who don't know, Luke was once a member of Destructo Project when it was a media and entertainment news site. He also had his own humor news site that went by the name of Jam Sandwhich.
