Live Action Star Wars TV Series
Over the past few months TheForce.net has been reporting that there may be a live action Star Wars on TV.

"We're continuing to hear about the direction for Lucasfilm and Star Wars post-Episode III. While there won't be more movies, we continue to hear the move is to TV. Sources are now telling us that there WILL be a TV series in 2006. They don't know whether it'll be live-action, animated or both - Lucasfilm itself will decide on this later this year!"

Here is a pretty cool theroy from TheForce.net staff member Josh.

"The recent posts on the possibility of a Star Wars TV series have got us thinking. This is just informed speculation at best. But I think the key to determining what George Lucas will do is to pay more attention to what he's done in the past than what he's publicly saying. For years after ROTJ, he said he had no intention of doing the prequels, and then in the mid '90s reversed his course and went full speed ahead. He did the Indiana Jones out of order with the second movie a prequel to the first one, then the third film in the series, then a TV series produced and directed by Rick McCallum and now "one more for the road" so to speak."

"Is this what they have planned for Star Wars? obviously the OT video release this fall with some work done to match up the effects with the prequels, release of Episode III next summer, then maybe a TV series with Mark Hamill playing a "Yoda" Jedi Master role produced and directed by Rick McCallum, further Cartoon Network Star Wars series, theatrical re-release of all six movies with further work done to match them up (Episode I also needs to have the Yoda scenes updated), then a box set re-release of the final versions on HD, and finally some years from now "one more for the road" Episode VII to finally wrap everything up. Harrison Ford would likely even come back if it were only for one more."

"As the contacts at Lucasfilm have been hinting, there's a lot more coming in the Star Wars universe after Episode III is done. Can you imagine a Star Wars TV series (on Fox naturally) maybe at 8 or 9 PM on Sunday nights - the old X-Files time slot. This is just our opinion, but it certainly could be a scenario they are considering."

Only time and George will tell what will happen, but I for one would love to see a well produced live action TV series that would pick up after RotJ with Luke Skywalker teaching the next generation of Jedi. Better yet, one last movie to tie things up with the original actors after RotJ would be a dream come true.

Richard B. Riddick
I saw The Chronicles of Riddick over the weekend. It was pretty descent for a action sci-fi movie. The blue screen shots are a little visible at times but you get to see some neat stunts and classic action hero shots that make it worth while. The ending was very abrupt, but I guess that's how you set up the next two movies. I recommend this movie to people looking for a good summer action flick. I hope the next two aren't to far off.

The 5 Boroughs
I've been listening to the new Beastie Boys album that comes out Tuesday (June 15th). I guess I expected an album similar to Hello Nasty, but after a six year hiatus the Beastie Boys decided to do their take on the current hip hop sound on half of this album... The other half is very Beastie sounding. It may take a while to get into The 5 Boroughs. I devoted a new DP Entrance to my favorite band, ch-check it.

Harry Potter
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was pretty good. Sure they shifted and left some parts out from the books, but hey they still made the movie, and yes it was good. I like the books, but the writers had to focus on the main story. It was a little hard to switch gears to new director Alfonso Cuaron. He decided to expand the world of Harry Potter, which is great, but now the kids have to walk a mile to get to Hagrid's hut and the whompping willow. I guess that bothered me the most. Now I know how the LotR faithful book lovers feel, A bunch of stuff was shifted around for the adaptation for the LotR trilogy. If after the fourth movie the the main kids decide to not come back, I may have to wait until a video release.

Luke Hackney
One day Luke contacts me and says "Hey, I write for Creem magazine" The other day he wrote me to say "Hey, I've got my site back up" Check out Luke, the only writer I kind of know.

Chronicles of Riddick
I saw the first ten minutes of The Chronicles of Riddick on MTV's Sunday Stew. What I saw was some decent action scenes with Riddick sporting some long deads and a ZZ Top beard. Can't wait to see this movie.
